Trpejca (Part 2)

The picture here above makes me think “to the infinity and beyond!” and it is such a odd thing because it is inspired from a lake, not a sea, nor an ocean!

I have never liked lakes but with Ohrid I have totally changed my mind!

The water is so clean and transparent that I dare you to guess where it starts and where it ends!

This post aims to stun you as this is exactly the same effect that this place made to me!

There are boats everywhere, crystal water, flowers and any possible shade of blue.

They call it “the Saint Tropez of Balkans” but let me say that this small village in the South of Macedonia is far better than the glamour Saint Tropez!

Then, of course, if you want to be seen in fancy places, sipping champagne and doing expensive shopping you’d better go there!

But in case that you are more attracted by nature, Lake Ohrid will utterly surprise you!

This place has gone far beyond all of my expectations and what about the hammock here below? Don’t tell me you wouldn’t love to lay there!

This reminded me of Greece. Also there they use to build small constructions and locate them in the most uncommon places, along the highways or roundabout! This one was nearby a barbeque grill!

  1. This looks magnificent. I haven’t been to Macedonia at all yet, but my friend, who is married to a Macedonian and visits Lake Ohrid every year, returned this summer full of spots due to an algae allergy! It was really bad, and just days after they swam there swimming was officially severely unrecommended. I don’t know how long this lasted. When did you go there?

    1. I have been there last week-end but to tell you the truth I haven’t bathed. Algae are cyclic but I have seen people bathing both in Ohrid and Trpejca. I don’t know what to say. There was not even one sign advertising not to do it!
